Community Takes on New Wal-Mart Super Store
Campaign rallies residents to support local businesses

In a show of force, a motorcade of more than 30 trucks and a crowd of around 170 area residents gathered at the site of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Madison, Ohio to stand up for small towns and speak out against the mega-corporation’s unfair business practices and record of turning small cities into ghost towns.

BMA Media Group organized an intense media awareness campaign leading up to the event, including a press conference that attracted local newspaper and broadcast coverage from four major Cleveland outlets:  WKYC Channel 3, FOX8 News, WEWS Channel 5 and WTAM 1100.

Beginning with a steady press release effort aimed at specific local media, the campaign drew attention to the message and events geared toward alerting the public of Wal-Mart’s ill effects on small community businesses and employment.
