The IBEW Fourth District wanted to conduct a member organizing campaign, but was faced with the challenge of conducting the campaign across several states.  The group needed something that wouldn’t get dated too quickly and that would present the massive amount of information necessary without losing the recipient’s attention.  An informational DVD created by BMA Media Group was a natural fit.

After BMA Media Group worked with the IBEW Fourth District for several months to identify what information was most important to include, the DVD, titled “Earn What You’re Worth,” was produced and released.  Within weeks, the district was receiving responses.

Earn What You’re Worth” has been the recipient of several national awards, including a Telly®; premier awards honoring outstanding video and film productions as well as the finest local, regional and cable television commercials and programs; and an American Graphic Design Award.

The DVD covers main themes on how the IBEW can improve a member’s quality of life and includes testimonials from members, contractors and other industry notables.

Handle with Care” was produced and distributed to school board presidents and superintendents throughout Michigan.

When the Michigan Association for Responsible Contracting (MARC) launched its Responsible Contracting campaign in 2002 at school boards in Michigan touting the benefits of pre-qualifying contractors to ensure quality construction, it knew its message was complex and needed a communication method that would easily convey the information.  Utilizing BMA Media Group, MARC invested in the production of a DVD, titled “Handle with Care,” that simply and clearly highlighted the benefits of Responsible Contracting. The DVD received an American Graphic Design Award.

To date, the group has had several victories in school boards across the state and recently worked with the Michigan Association of School Boards to pass Responsible Contracting ordinances on the state level for use at the local level

Life on the Lines” was produced to accommodate any community in the country but is also capable of being personalized upon request.

How do you show the excitement and passion of the union Outside Electrical Linemen industry?  Work with BMA Media Group to put images and interviews on a CD-ROM to send to prospective members.  The IBEW International, the National Electrical Contractors Association and the National Labor/Management Cooperation Committee invested to have BMA produce a CD-ROM, called “Life on the Lines,” geared towards recruiting outside electrical members and contractors.

Understanding that there is no more important tool to success than competently gaining new interest in their organization, the trio turned to BMA Media Group to generate new interest in the industry. Now, multiple locals and organizations have ordered the CD-ROM.
