BMA Media Group was heavily involved in the campaign for Protect Cleveland Jobs NOW!, a grassroots organization of residents, businesspeople and construction professionals demanding the use of local workers on local job sites.
Cleveland State University's "Campus Village," the largest residential development to be built in Cleveland in the past 30 years, was attempting to circumvented a law that sets a 20 percent requirement for a resident workforce, as well as other benchmarks for minorities and women on city construction projects.
LaborTools, powered by BMA, launched a website for the cause, which featured background information, current media exposure and outlets for concerned citizens to voice their disapproval of dangerous employment practices to people who can change the situation at Cleveland State and beyond. Flyers and literature to be passed out at rallies and other events around the worksite were created, as well as a social media campaign that targeted students to help make a difference.
Through the power of social media, the cause received over 12,000 "likes" on its affiliated Facebook page, in less than six months.
