Union recruitment campaign targeted potential Insulator members and apprentices

The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced that the insulation industry would see a projected 38 percent growth in overall employment from 2012 to 2022 - much faster than the average for any other occupation. An initial reaction of excitement may have shifted rapidly for those in the industry when the realization hit that they would need to start increasing the size of their workforce...fast!

The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers already represents nearly 30,000 craftsmen in a series of construction trades throughout the U.S. and Canada. To prepare for the surge in employment over the next decade, the HFIAW enlisted LaborTools powered by BMA Media Group to create a much-needed recruitment campaign targeted towards both industry members and apprentices.

insulators_hpThe first vital step in this campaign was designing a brand new website that would serve as a full-scale marketing platform fit for the 21st century. The dynamic site is filled with industry information, from details on skills and trades to recent news and government affairs.

The "Careers" section of the site has proven to be a vital tool for membership recruitment and development on an international level. Targeted landing pages - where interested parties can learn about the industry and request career information - serve as the first step in the recruitment campaign. These requests are filtered through the Local that serves the area in which these individuals live in order to follow up and determine if they are qualified candidates for the apprenticeship program or membership.
